2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline."
The question is, why should I fear when the Bible says God has not given me a spirit of fear? I don't know about you but fear is something that can really grip me if I allow it. Because I am a Christian, which means I am made in God's image, it's impossible for my spirit man to produce fear, however, I can accept fear and release it into my life and that's a choice. Fear is the opposite of faith. I choose to believe that if God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-discipline then I do not have to live with fear in my life. I choose to have faith not fear. If you were to ride with me in my truck on a bad day, a day when fear is trying to grip me, you would actually hear me say out loud, "fear GO in Jesus name!" At that point in my truck I am choosing to release FAITH not FEAR into my life and believe me it is a choice. If you are dealing with fear today I would like to pray for you personally. Just email ej@ejswanson.org and put in the email your first name. No worries, I am not going to email you back but I do want to pray for you by name and agree with you in prayer that fear will go in Jesus name.

When have you taken a step of faith and watched God come through big for you? How did that impact your faith?
